Parents are STILL naming their baby boys Jack, which has been the most common first name for about 20 years. My 18 year old stepson had four in his secondary school class alone.

Met a guy on the Navajo reservation once named William Mexican . Had a number of sons. I remember William, Will, Bill, Billy and the youngest I met Willyman.

Back when Mrs Bungo was an A&E nurse, she would have to go into waiting rooms and call people by name, including a few made up, ridiculous one-off names, which she would, not surprisingly struggle with the precise pronunciation of.
Apparently many parents would get quite shirty if their darling offspring's name wasn't perfectly pronounced, even though this was because they'd invented it themselves by cramming several unpronounceable syllables together into a bastardised disaster of a name.
I'd tell you which hospital/demographic this was but some may then accuse me of racism.

The name didn't belong to a child, however I heard someone shout 'crystal' to someone a year or so back.
'Crystal' was a black bloke of about 25

West African given names can be very interesting.
